First Place: Custard Bear, Christchurch Boys' High School

Second place: The Guest Aranui, Cashmere and Hagley Community College

Smokefree People’s Choice: K2 Shirley Boys' High, Casebrook and Shirley Intermediate.

Third place: Villain, Shirley Boys' High School

The Mainz Musicianship Award: Nick Wilkinson, the drummer from Hillview in Black, Linwood College

The APRA Lyric Writer’s Award: Becky Jordan, Lincoln High School

Smokefree Award For Women’s Musicianship: Mahalia Simpson, Marian College

The Lowdown Best Song Award: Custard Bear

Comment from Custard Bear  drummer Jack Harré: "With three years’ experience in entering Smokefreerockquest our pop-funk sound was pretty tight. We had rehearsed until we were sick of the sound of our songs but we knew they would stick together - the songs are ‘about random things like pie and milk and a tree called Jessica."

Second: Runaway Joe from Burnside High School and Shirley Boys High

Smokefree People’s Choice: Discord, Rangiora High School
Third: With Legions We Stand, Lincoln High School, Burnside High School, Papanui High School and Mairehau High School.
The Mainz Musicianship Award: the lead guitarist from with Legions we Stand.
The APRA Lyric Writer’s Award: Robert Riach and Jacob Johnson-Firth from Queen Charlotte College.
Smokefree Award For Women’s Musicianship: Tess Stephens from Rangiora High School.
Lowdown Best Song Award: Peachebones

Comment from Peachebones vocalist Andy Manning: “I think we stood out from the other bands because we had a different energy and style from anyone else. We’re vibrant, we had a good sound and our songs are about down to earth stuff.”
