Kane Strang won the Otago regional final with a 'come-together' song he hopes isn't too cheesy. Other results on Otago page.

Heavy rockers Solar Underground from James Hargest College won the Southland regional final and took out the Smokefree People’s Choice Award. Band spokesman Matthew Pope says they were really tight, had a lot of energy on stage and had crowd support. Read more on the Southland page. 

'Post hard core' band As Colour Fades from Massey High School won the West Auckland regional final. Vocalist Conin Bowker says for some of the band it was their third time of entering Smokefreerockquest and the experience helped them to deliver an energetic and tight performance. Heats for this year begin on Saturday, so if you are one of the regions completing, make sure you check out times on your regions page.

To find your times, click on your region on the map and you will see a list of times.

Make sure you arrive no later than 30mins before your are due to play as you might have to play sooner.

After a few days of problems with the site, and emails not getting thru, this has now been sorted.

Just a quick note to let you now that we have some issues with the website currently, which is preventing emails being sent out. Do not panic, we are having this fixed currently by our development team.

Once it is sorted, the emails will be sent to you (you don't need to re-entry or request them).

Hey All, 

Just a quick note to let you know that Tim from Steriogram (who you would have seen at your school over the past two years with the NZ Schools Tour or as the SFRQ MC for the north island last year) was involved in a motorbike accident last week. The good news is he is ok, but has a pretty damaged leg. He now has some new shiny metal as a bone, so thanks to the NZ health system he will now set off metal detectors at airports and shops from now on!
